McClellan's Peninsula Campaign
Updated 02/29/04
My favorite Campaign in the east. I can't get enough of the plodding caution of McClellan versus the constantly retreating Joe Johnston and later the audacious Lee. According to Burton's Seven Days book, this operation involved more men than any in the entire Civil War. The Confederates had near parity in numbers with the Union army during the campaign, and were even closer if you accept the figures that Stephen Newton uses (which I do, BTW).
