In preparation for an upcoming post on Civil War book acquisitions, I noticed another incredibly cheap but interesting book for Amazon Kindle. Adrian Tighe’s book on the post-Gettysburg Bristoe Campaign in the fall of 1863 is the only modern study of this completely forgotten subject, and it’s available for only $3.03 on Amazon Kindle! Keep in mind that this format is not restricted only to Kindle. Even if you have no Kindle, you can easily download the Kindle app for smart phones and PCs and read the book there. Though the book obviously suffers from a lack of editing, Drew Wagenhoffer’s favorable review and the low, low price should be enough to entice you to buy if you are at all interested in the war in the east. As I alluded to at the beginning of this post, I bought the hardcover version of the book a few weeks ago or I’d have picked up this Kindle version myself.
