I wanted to introduce myself briefly. Many of you know me from my books, and some of you probably know me from my own blog. Fear not: Rantings of a Civil War Historian will go on uninterrupted, and will remain my primary blogging outlet. I’m simply adding to it by joining this blog, too.
For those who don’t know me, I’m a lawyer in private practice in Columbus, Ohio. I am also the author of 13 published books and about two dozen articles in national magazines. I am definitely an amateur; I have not had a formal history class since the 10th grade. My specialty is the Army of the Potomac’s Cavalry Corps, but I have written on a variety of topics. Gettysburg is my first love, but it’s definitly NOT my sole focus. I’m also a publisher. I’m the editor-in-chief of Ironclad Publishing, a small, niche publisher of Civil War books best known for our The Discovering Civil War America Series of history/tour guide volumes.
I also own and operate the Civil War Discussion Group Online, a set of forum boards for the discussion of the Late Unpleasantness. I hope some of you will stop by and visit from time to time. We’d love to have you.
I look foward to participating in this blog, and to the free exchange of ideas that will take place. Enjoy.
