August 25, 1864

The Battle of Ream’s Station, on the Weldon Railroad, VA, as Lieut. Gen. Ambrose P. Hill, CSA, attacks the 2nd US Army Corps under Maj. Gen. Winfield Scott Hancock, USA, who are in the process of destroying the Weldon Railroad.  Hill retreats back to Petersburg, VA.  Total casualties approximate 3,100, the Richmond, VA, Campaign.

Skirmish at Halltown, WV, as Lieut. Gen. Jubal Early, CSA, threatens to invade the north again.

Action near Kearneysville, WV, the Shenandoah Valley, VA, Campaign.

Action near Shepherdstown, WV, the Shenandoah Valley, VA, Campaign.
