The American Civil War Magazine & Journal Index has been updated today. I added cover images and summaries of Volume 1 of North & South: The Official Magazine of the Civil War Society. I also fixed the “ht://Dig” search engine the site uses so that only the ACW Magazine & Journal Index portion of www.brettschulte.net will be searched. When this index starts to grow, anyone interested in a certain person, place, thing, or event can simply search the site and see what types of hits come up across all of the magazines. In this way the ACW Magazine and Journal Index can become an important place to go to quickly and easily search through your magazine back issues without having to actually pull them out and handle them.
Also, I am definitely looking for volunteers to help transcribe the table of contents page for each issue of each magazine. I want to thank Tom Tompkins of East Lansing, Michigan, for volunteering to help on this project. Tom is a soon-to-be retired High School History teacher. Any transcribing not done by me will be duly noted at the top of each issue page, and I hope to create a volunteer page which lists each transcriber and their efforts.
