I’ve now updated the Confederate OOB of my Petersburg Campaign Project through the month of July 1864 (the Third Offensive). The OOBs I’m starting with are from F. Ray Sibley, Jr.’s reference work The Confederate Order of Battle: The Army of Northern Virginia, Volume 1. As usual in these cases, I’ve gotten enthusiastic about getting the initial Confederate OOBs listed, so you might see quite a few of these small updates over the next few weeks. I’ll only be listing an update when I finish an OOB for another of the nine offensives at Petersburg. Next up is the OOB for the Fourth Offensive, which occurred in mid to late August 1864, and consisting of the Battles of Second Deep Bottom north of the James River, and Globe Tavern and Second Reams’ Station south of that watercourse along the Weldon Railroad.
