2 Scenario: Trimble's Attack on Cemetery Hill, Gettysburg
Day One This hypothetical scenario involves one of the truly great what-ifs of the entire Civil War. What if Ewell had attacked the disorganized Union Army on Cemetery Hill on the evening of July 1? Would the attack have changed the outcome of the Battle of Gettysburg and the war? Or could the Union veterans have withstood the Southern onslaught?

6 Scenario: Battle of Champion Hill, Mississippi The Battle of Champion Hill was the decisive action of the Vicksburg Campaign in hindsight. After Grant had pushed Pemberton off of Champion Hill and forced him back to Vicksburg, the Siege became a (rather bloody, as it turned out) formality. Author Scot Gore recommends only experienced players attempt this large scenario, which was originally designed for convention play.

15 Robert Sweeney uses the H. E. Howard book covering the 25th Virginia to give a page long briefing of the battles in which the regiment participated. In addition, a full color 15mm (I think) regimental flag is provided as well. I like this idea and hope to see more of these articles in the future.

22 Plowed fields are an extremely common terrain feature on a Civil War battlefield. Doug Kline, terrain guru extraordinaire, devotes only a short paragraph to the purchase of ready made fields, and goes into great detail on making your own. Doug describes using ready to finish resin, corduroy, or gel medium to complete these fields.

24 Scott reviews these variable order counters from Fox Bases. These bases are a quick and easy replacement for the numerous counters one needs to issue orders in JR3. Instead of searching for the chit you need, you simply set the variable order counter to whatever order you want to issue.

25 Scenario: Battle of Dranesville, Virginia McClellan sent elements of McCall's Division across the Potomac River into northern Virginia to intercept a foraging expedition under J. E. B. Stuart in the winter of 1861. This scenario depicts the resulting action in which Stuart was driven back with over 200 casualties.
