The Battles & Leaders volumes are familiar to most Civil War buffs. I present here my Battles & Leaders Collection.

Battles And Leaders of the Civil War (1-Volume Abridgement)	selected and edited by Ned Bradford	New 12/08/02 Battles & Leaders resulted after the Century Magazine printed articles about individual battles from the Generals who fought in them. After the articles had finished their run, they were all combined into the four-volume Battles & Leaders series. Braford attempted to take the most relevant and interesting articles and put them into a one volume abridged edition, and I think he did a pretty good job. Only beginner's will want this book, however. You'll definitely want to get all four volumes for your library. 626 pp.
Battles And Leaders of the Civil War, Volume 2: The Struggle Intensifies	various authors	New 12/08/02 Volume 2 of the four volume set covers the Battles from Fort Pulaski through to Corinth. 760 pp., 53 maps
Battles And Leaders of the Civil War, Volume 3: The Tide Shifts	various authors	New 12/08/02 Volume 3 of the four volume set covers the Battles from Perryville through to Chattanooga. 752 pp., 46 maps
Eyewitness History of te Civil War: Opening Guns: Fort Sumter to Bull Run, 1861	various authors edited by Al Nofi	New 03/17/03 This book is one of a series which actually breaks the Battles & Leaders series down even farther. This was given to me by my Uncle for Christmas one year. A nice book, but I believe the Series is out of print.
Eyewitness History of te Civil War: The Bloody Struggle: The Civil War in the East, 1862	various authors edited by Al Nofi	New 03/17/03 This book is one of a series which actually breaks the Battles & Leaders series down even farther. This was given to me by my Uncle for Christmas one year. A nice book, but I believe the Series is out of print.
